The Alchemists

Here we are, the team that started the distillery. We are four Hedmark residents who love to develop our own ideas and explore the world of food and drink.

We have sought to combine knowledge with a respect for cultural history and tradition, while also finding new ways to make great drinks. Together with local talent we have also given our products innovative visual profiles.

On historical grounds

Spirit production began at the distillery in Løten in 1855 and spirits were produced until 1995. It is with great excitement and a certain reverence that the founders of Hedmark Alkemiske Destilleri AS begin distilling and developing good spirits at this beautiful location.

We are introducing new spirits based on local traditions, local herbs, berries and spices this year.

As playful alchemists, we will of course also bring out some completely new variations for those who dare.

Logo

Now we are quite happy and satisfied with our logo. We wanted a logo that represents distilling in a fun way. At the same time, we wanted to give equal weight to all the words in the name.

The circle is inspired by a copper spiral that can be used in distillation. Circles also symbolize something circular and sustainable. These are principles we will adhere to in our work and production.

The symbol also allows for moving the full circle up and down, so we can show whether something is full, half full, or empty. Play in the circles can also show changes in the alchemy.

In this fun logo creation process, we have worked with the Norwegian design agency Bleed. It was started and led by Hamar native Dag Solhaug Laska. The designer was Madeleine Eriksen and the project manager was Marie Louise Notøy Steen.
